The page rolls a magician, vat-thing, wayfarer, or witch from 1st to 10th level. Animus, the vat-thing pattern and flaw, and one item from the gear table still apply. Languages come from that class's column. Starting funds are terces. The terce table stops at 3rd level, and a higher level uses that row.
A magician starts with one libram, plus one extra 1st-level spell for each point of Intelligence above 10. A vat-thing uses the same books, and the extras start at Intelligence above 14. The rote check is kept. A result below the first success is raised to that success. A natural 1 still takes that success and rolls wizardly objurgation. A rote of 20 or higher is formidable. The number in parentheses is how many of those can be held. Each one past that burns 1 Personality. Personality changes how many spells are memorized, using the Spells Memorized column on Table 3-1. It does not raise the formidable cap. A Personality of 3 or less memorizes none. The highest spell level is the lower of the class table and Table 3-1 for Intelligence. Further spells are found in play.
A witch's spells follow the level columns, and Ensqualm is known in addition at 1st level. Personality adds to the 1st-level count. Spells above the Personality max on Table 3-1 are left off, and a Personality of 3 or less grants no spells. The spell check is 1d20 + Personality + level. The pact entity, the ritual weapon, the birth gift, and the known squalms are rolled. Demonic taint starts at 0.
A wayfarer has a rhetorical deed die, a luck die that starts at d20, the arcane apocrypha and dissembler bonus, and one spell. The spell's level is at most the lower of the magician maximum for that character level and Table 3-1 for Intelligence. The check is d16 and can fail. The number is on the sheet for the judge and stays off the player's spell line until the spell is cast.
PDF, Plain Text, CSV, and JSON are on the Style/Format list. CSV and JSON download 500 characters. Keep the sheet fillable leaves the boxes editable.
The Save These Settings button stores the choices on this page in a cookie in your browser. The next time you open the page, the hit point method, Lucky Sign, and the other menus and checkboxes are already set. Scores you type in by hand are not saved.
The Roll a thaumaturgical curio checkbox adds an optional Appendix A item. A bauble-thief always carries the stolen curio.
A vat-thing occupation levels up as a vat-thing. The pattern sets the alignment for that occupation and for the vat-thing class. Grudge tokens are not rolled.
